Bibliotekstatistikken er hentet fra de nasjonale folkebibliotekstatistikkene fra Nasjonalbiblioteket. Noen bibliotek har utvalgt statistikk fra 1993-2004, dette stammer fra publikasjoner fra Statens bibliotektilsyn og ABM-skrift.
Statistikken fra tredjeparts leverandører er hentet fra leverandørens egen statistikkportal.
BibStat ble opprinnelig utviklet av Vestfold fylkesbibliotek og driftes nå av KS Digital. Kontaktperson: Trygve Kikut.
